Claire Grimes heads the specialist international arm of Chelgate Ltd. She is an expert in the field of international relations, with particular expertise relating to Africa and Middle Eastern affairs. A fluent Arabic speaker, she has extensive international and multicultural experience in political and economic intelligence gathering analysis, high level stakeholder engagement, conflict resolution and communications. She has exceptional expertise working within environments of adversarial opinion and can draw upon more than 25 years’ experience working for the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office, NATO, and United Nations humanitarian and peace-keeping operations based in the Balkans, Brussels, the Middle East and North Africa.  

Her extensive international experience includes serving as Head, Security Intelligence, NATO Office of Security, NATO Headquarters, Brussels, and previously as First Secretary, European Security and Defence Policy (ESDP). She combines a wealth of security intelligence experience with a strong political communications background, having acted as the spokeswoman for the United Nations Peacekeeping Force during the Bosnia conflict and for the United Nations Preventive Deployment Force in the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia.
