A Weak and Wobbly Great Repeal Bill

After much speculation, the Government has now published details of its so-called Great Repeal Bill. It is safe to say that majority of people will have found it a great disappointment. The European Union (Withdrawal) Bill will repeal the 1972 European Communities Act, bringing an end to Britain’s membership of the European Union. European laws will no longer take precedence over UK laws and the jurisdiction of the European Court of Justice will be removed. So just how much control are we taking back? 2017 General Election Polls

Senior Consultant Diana Varley looks in more detail at the polling during this General Election campaign.   Until Theresa May called the General Election, the polls were relatively consistent. Last month the Conservative Party were miles ahead and Jeremy Corbyn’s Labour Party were struggling to keep up. UKIP were just behind the Liberal Democrats, polling at between five and seven percent compared to the Liberal Democrats’ 12 percent. The French have shown a new resistance to authority, quelle surprise! Round one in the French election has gone to two outsiders, the liberal choice of Emmanuel Macron and the extreme right wing candidate Marine Le Pen. France has followed the recent referendum campaign in the UK and the US election by upsetting the political applecart by ending six decades of rule from moderate parties. What does this mean for us?
